Birth Doula
As your birth doula, I am a tour guide for your birth—someone who knows the ins-and-outs of the process. While I do not provide medical support, I can help you navigate the waters of the medical system, which can involve complicated, often difficult to understand language, terminology, and procedures. I provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support and help you to find your own voice in the birthing process.
Evidence of better birth outcomes is mounting in favor of the use of continuous labor support in the form of a doula. Doulas are recommended by such organizations as The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), and The World Health Organization (WHO).

Postpartum Doula
As your postpartum doula I will mother you, the mother, so you can mother your baby in what I lovingly call the fourth trimester.
The transition into parenthood is usually exciting but rarely is it simple. Dealing with stress, sleep deprivation, and hormone fluctuations as you bond with your new family member and adjust to your new roles and relationship dynamics within the family can be daunting in those early days.
My postpartum services, including both in-person and virtual support options, as well as access to my exclusive, virtual New Mom Group, will assist you in nurturing yourself and building a strong support system to help ease you into parenthood.

Home and Birth Center

Five 2.5-hr sessions
This 5-week class prepares couples for an out-of-hospital birth. We cover stages of labor, relaxation, comfort measures, tips and tools for both partners, information for if a transfer becomes necessary, building your birth team, and much more. Each weekly session is 2.5 hours and includes a full-color student workbook and one-year access to an online breastfeeding class.

Basics of Birth: One-day Birth Class

One 7-hr session + lunch break
This one-day group class is designed for the extra busy couple or couples who decided to sign up a bit too close to their due date to take the comprehensive course. Topics covered include basic nutrition and exercise to stay healthy and low-risk; what to expect during labor, epidurals and cesarean section, coping techniques and comfort measures, and writing a birth plan.
The Basic Training class runs 7 hours with a one-hour lunch break and includes a beautiful, full-color workbook.
Reboot Refresher

The Birth Boot Camp Reboot class is a 4-hour private class for couples who have taken a birth class with a previous pregnancy. This class is tailor-made to cover the topics you feel you need to prepare for your upcoming birth. Topics discussed may include stages of labor, relaxation and comfort measures, postpartum, and breastfeeding. Includes a full-color student workbook.
Homecoming: Life with a New Recruit

This 4-hour class is your manual for early parenthood! Topics include newborn procedures, babywearing, safe sleep, postpartum topics, and baby comfort techniques to help you and your partner get off to a great start with your new baby. Participants also will receive one-year access to our breastfeeding video course and a full-color student workbook.

Comfort Measures Workshop

This 4-hour workshop is designed to help both partners build confidence for the big day. You will take in an abundance of relaxation, comfort measures, massage, imagery, as well as communication skills for labor. This workshop does NOT replace a childbirth education course. Includes a beautiful comfort measures booklet that will be perfect to take to your birth place, as well as a relaxation book filled with a variety of relaxation scripts that walk you through physical, emotional, and mental exercises. This is a perfect class to attend with your partner and your doula!
Hospital Birth Class
Six 2.5-hr sessions

Designed for the couple planning for birth in a hospital setting, this class offers more than your average birth class. Topics include induction, epidurals and other pain medication options, policies that impact your birth, comfort measures, relaxation, and more! This is a fun, interactive, hands-on class that will prepare you to make informed decisions as your birth unfolds, so you can have an amazing hospital birth experience.
